Deregulation of IL-1β axis in peripheral blood mononuclear cells from patients with Chronic Recurrent Multifocal Osteomyelitis

چکیده
Background Chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis (CRMO) is a rare childhood disease presenting with bone pain, fever and multifocal osteolytic bone lesions. CRMO is considered an autoinflammatory disease but its aetiology and pathogenesis are still unknown. Autoinflammatory diseases are usually characterized by abnormalities in the regulation of inflammasomes, macromolecular complexes involved in the processing and in the release of IL-1b.

Deregulation of the IL-1β axis in chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis
BACKGROUND This study aims to investigate the inflammasome response in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and the expression of inflammasome components in bone biopsies from patients with chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis (CRMO). METHODS The expression of inflammasome components mRNAs was evaluated in PBMCs isolated from 15 CRMO patients and 13 healthy controls by quantitativ...
متن کاملIn vitro and in vivo assessment of inhibitory effect of stevioside on pro-inflammatory cytokines
Objective: Stevioside is a natural non-caloric sweetener which has been reported to have anti-inflammatory activity. The aim of the present study was to examine in vitro and in vivo effects of stevioside on rats plasma levels of tumor necrosis factor- α (TNF-α), interleukin-1β (IL-1β), TNF-α and IL-1β release from lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-stimulated rat peripheral blood mononuclear cells (P...
متن کاملThe effect of 17β-estradiol on gene expression of calcitonin gene-related peptide and some pro-inflammatory mediators in peripheral blood mononuclear cells from patients with pure menstrual migraine
Objective(s):The neuropeptide calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) has long been postulated to play an integral role in the pathophysiology of migraine. Earlier studies showed that CGRP can stimulate the synthesis and release of nitric oxide (NO) and cytokines from trigeminal ganglion glial cells. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of 17β-estradiol in regulation of CGRP exp...
متن کاملEvaluation of in vitro Effect of Pyocyanine Pigment on Interleukin-2 Secretion from Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells in Cancer Patients
Background and Objective: The pyocyanine pigment in Pseudomonas aeruginosa stimulates blood cells to secrete IL-2. IL-2 cytokine is an activator of cytotoxic T cells and natural killer cells. These cells destroy the target cells of patients with cancer. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of pyocyanine on the IL-2 secretion from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) in patients with b...
